Occasionally, I will be walking down the street and see somebody walking towards me…more often than not, I stop to wonder why this person made no effort at all in getting ready.
Is it really too much to ask to put on a fresh, pressed skirt and clean top? Too much hassle to run a brush through that knotted hair? The simple answer is NO.

What I really don’t understand are people who don’t want to make the best of themselves. Now, I’m not saying that everybody should become self obsessed beauty freaks, but I know myself that if I don’t have my make-up on and hair styled, I feel like an utter and complete dog.
It does occur to me that some people feel so comfortable in their own skins that they don’t feel the need to use a cover up or apply lip gloss – and this is really great. The point I’m trying to make is about people who have such beautiful looks and figures but cover themselves in ugly, ill fitting clothes and shy away from the world.

For most people, it is simply an issue of time and money. It’s hard to financially keep up with the ever changing ‘trends’ and even harder to find the time to perform a full beauty routine and catwalk show every morning. All this before your eight am start at work…very unlikely.

Unless….you are unemployed and reason with yourself; ‘What’s the point in getting up and getting ready? I haven’t got anywhere to go…anything to do.’
Even if your day consists of a date with Jeremy Kyle followed by Loose Women, it’s good to get up, get ready and do something with your day. All too often people get stuck in a rut due to a slobbish routine of sleep, daytime TV and snacks. This can make the individual feel depressive and low, and then a lack of confidence and fatigue sets in.

I once had a gorgeous friend who had natural good looks, the problem was, she didn’t see this and felt as if she needed to hide herself away from the rest of the world. She donned the baggiest, dullest clothes anybody could imagine to cover up her curvy figure and she rarely left the house. She thought she was fat, ugly…repulsive to other people, where in fact she was the complete opposite. With a little time and gentle persuasion, she began to see the beauty within herself and stopped hiding her feminine figure behind a baggy wall of protection.

One Toni & Guy haircut, High Street shopping Spree and expert Make-up consultation later, she had transformed from the caterpillar to the butterfly. She never looked back from that point on and now she wouldn’t be seen dead in the sad, depressive clothes she used to wear.

I would like your opinions on how people portray themselves and how you yourself feel about the way you look.
