Carly Stratton, 18 year old student from Cheshire joined the island at the young age of 18 and was hoping for a journey of self discovery on the Island.
Fast becoming one of the Shipwrecked favourites this season, Carly will surely go far. Her friends describe her as bubbly and caring and quite frankly, we can see why. In fact, the only bad point we can find about Carly is that she still sucks her thumb at times!
This is a quick extract from her week two diary;
“My fellow TIGERS are incredible. I love each and every one of them already. Susan and I get on so well and have been together since day one, so as the only girls on tigers (for now) we are loving being together.
Then for the boys…Marv is fantastic, we bonded straight away and all have a real laugh with each other. Jack is also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and he’s a great handy man! Tom is lovely, I’m not as close to him as the others but hopefully now we are in a smaller group we’ll have more time to spend time together.”

Another one of the favourites this year is 18 year old Lara Goodison. She wants to be young forever and says her friends would describe her as ‘up for a laugh and slightly dappy’. She is laid back and well natured and this comes across in her relaxed attitude to Island life.
Lara currently resides on Shark Island which will make the shows finale very interesting…could we be looking at a toss up between Lara and Carly? You never know what shipwrecked are going to come up with this year..
Laras week one diary proves to us that happy go lucky Lara is enjoying sun, sea and er…soggy sleeping bags…
“Our first night is one I will never, ever forget. We attempted to make a shelter to sleep under and having done so we were pretty pleased with ourselves…that’s until it poured with rain all night and our ‘shelter’ (if you can call it a shelter at this point) flooded and we spent the rest of the night sitting scrunched up in soggy, sandy sleeping bags! Oh well, we learnt from that mistake and the next day worked on a better shelter with the fantastic use of our waterproof ponchos…it hasn’t leaked yet…but I don’t wanna jinx it so I’ll shut up!”

Stay tuned to T4 every saturday and sunday for more on shipwrecked 2008!
